The Camillus Senior Center is pleased to announce the following upcoming programs. All programs are held at the Camillus Senior Center located at 27 First St. in the village of Camillus. Questions may be directed to the center at 315-672-5820.
Family love letters
This practical and sensitive workshop will help you face the difficult process of centralizing financial, legal and personal information so family and friends can take care of you and know how you would like end-of-life issues handled.
Attendees will receive the Family Love Letter workbook which will help to organize your information and document your wishes.

Senior variety show
The Camillus Senior Center needs you for the upcoming Senior Variety Show! If you have a talent for singing, dancing, playing an instrument, acting or just being funny, come to an informational meeting on: Wednesday, July 31 at 1 p.m. The Variety Show is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 17.
It’s show time
Learn how to be your best on stage, no matter what your talent. It can be hard to feel relaxed but being prepared helps. Learn about the importance of stage presence and how to engage the audience so that when the curtain opens, you’ll be ready to dazzle the crowd.

Wanna dance in a chorus line
Come learn the basic moves as a chorus line member of a dance troupe and learn how to use your body in motion with confidence. Participants will learn a 3 to 4 minute routine to perform for the upcoming Senior Variety Show on Sept. 17 No experience needed, just enthusiasm to learn and have fun.
Thursdays, Aug. 1, 8, 15 and 22

Stretch, strengthen and balance
Tuesdays and Thursdays
9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Aug. 6 to Sept. 12.
$15 per person for a six week session (12 classes)
This program includes exercises to accommodate seniors of all ability levels. Strength & balance training exercises are done either in a seated position or standing with a chair.
Senior power hour
Join us for this energetic fitness class that consists of 30 minute warm up and aerobic dance followed by a half hour of strength and flexibility training. Class is instructed by Fred Wilson.

Bunko
Join us for this fun dice game. Great chance to get out, meet friends and socialize. All supplies and refreshments provided. Prizes.

Senior Center Meeting
All seniors are invited to attend monthly meetings to learn about activities, events, and other happenings. Meetings are held on the 1st Monday of each month.
1 p.m. Aug. 5 – Guest Speaker: County Executive Ryan McMahon.
Afternon art
Join us for a fun and relaxing afternoon painting. No artistic ability required! All participants will paint the same picture but will give it their own twist. Instructor will give simple, step by step instructions. All supplies will be provided.

Card making
Make beautiful homemade all occasion greeting cards. All materials provided.

Paper succulent plant class
Create realistic looking succulents using paper, paint and ink! Natural moss and rocks will be added for embellishment. Photo and sample is on display at the senior center.
Wednesday, July 31, 1 to 3 p.m., $10 per person. You must pay and pre-register for this class. Class is limited to 10. Instructed by Alyson Esposito.
Dental health
Dr. David Dasher of Amaus Dental Service will be here to talk about dental issues experienced by senior citizens. He will discuss ways to improve one’s oral health and offer suggestions for dental services.

AARP smart driver course
Learn defensive driving techniques to keep you safe on the road and receive a reduction on your car insurance.
Monday, July 29, new date, or Wednesday, Sept. 18 , or Wednesday, Nov. 13, 8:30 to 3 p.m.
You must be here for the entire class. $20 for AARP members/$25 non-members. Make checks payable to AARP
You may bring a lunch or order lunch at the center (see PEACE lunch program for details). Participants should bring their unexpired driver’s license and AARP membership card if applicable. Class size is limited so early registration is recommended. Phone registration will NOT be accepted. Payment must accompany registration form.
