Crash involving motorcycle in Manlius results in no serious injuries

The Town of Manlius Police Department is investigating a crash involving a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle, a 2016 Jeep SUV and a 2017 Chevy in the 8100 block of Genesee Turnpike in the Town of Manlius.

Preliminary investigation has found that the motorcycle was traveling west on East Genesee Street when the Jeep, being operated by Justin Barrett, a 34-year-old male, turned from the eastbound lane in front of him causing the crash. The front wheel of the motorcycle became detached and struck a 2017 Chevy as it drove past.

The operator of the motorcycle, Denny McCarthy, 75-year-old male, was transported to Upstate Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. No citations have been issued at this time as the investigation is continuing.
