The Onondaga County Sheriff Office reports that Sheriff’s Detectives have charged a Fulton man in connection with the December 3rd robbery of the NBT Bank in North Syracuse.
A thorough investigation along with surveillance video and witness interviews, led to the arrest of James C. Caskey (39) of 401 South Second Street Apt #1, Fulton. Caskey was charged today with Robbery in the 1st degree after detectives say that on December 3rd, at approximately 9:25 AM, Caskey entered the NBT Bank located at 700 North Main Street in the Village of North Syracuse wearing a ski mask over his face when he approached the counter and demanded money from the teller. Caskey did not show a weapon, but implied he had one and after receiving an undisclosed amount of money, he was seen fleeing from the area in a black colored Lincoln sedan. The robbery was investigated jointly by the North Syracuse Police Department and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
Caskey is also accused of robbing the Chase Bank in Camillus on November 30th. Camillus Police say Caskey entered the Chase Bank located at 3508 West Genesee Street, wearing an orange colored ski mask over his face when he approached the counter and demanded money from the teller. Caskey made off with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen walking west through the parking lot towards Advanced Automotive. Camillus Detectives charged Caskey with Robbery in the 3rd degree.
Caskey was arraigned this evening in the Village of North Syracuse Court and is currently being held in the Justice Center on $100,000 cash/bond for the NBT Bank robbery and $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond for the Chase Bank robbery.
