The Cazenovia Public Library last week launched its new and updated website — still with the same web address — that will be easier for the library to use and update, and more user-friendly for its patrons.
“A lot of the content is the same, just reorganized, and we’ve added a lot of new items,” said Elisha Davies, librarian’s assistant and library technology coordinator who designed the updated site. “For example, we’ve put all out events on the main page in calendar format so people don’t have to search too far. … We know people like to plan ahead.”
The website still has information about library programs, the online catalog, the art museum and cultural collections, but has made them more visible and easier to navigate. New to the website is direct links to downloadable magazines through Zinio, e-books and audio books through MyLibrary2Go, online resources and references and the Cazenovia Digital Newspapers database, Davies said. There will also be more photographs from library events, a map of the library and a greater focus on the library’s literary programs, such as the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
“I’m so pleased that people will be able to see our events calendar and actually download reminders onto their own devices,” said library Director Betsy Kennedy. “We hope people will take the time to explore the site to find out loads of information about the library and all our services. We will now have the capability to update and change the website often.”
