Liverpool High School’s Senior of the Week is Madeline Murphy, an avid swimmer and accomplished athlete.
Madeline is a member of the varsity swim team and the Liverpool Jets swim team. She is a 10-time state qualifier who holds three school records and a Section III record. She also participates in club swimming and is a lifeguard for both the school and the town of Salina. She has signed a letter of intent to swim at the University of New Hampshire next year.
Outside the pool, Madeline plays cello in the Symphonic Orchestra, and she volunteers at Arise at the Farm and the Liverpool Jets pre-competitive camp. A member of the National Honor Society, her favorite class is OCC physics, and she enjoys hiking, reading and listening to music. She aspires to a career in environmental research.
Madeline credits her coach as having the biggest influence on her life: “He pushed me to set high goals for myself.”
