The Northwest Fire District, comprised of the Baldwinsville and Lysander fire departments, is holding an informational meeting next week to discuss two propositions that residents will vote on in August.
The first proposition is to purchase various fire safety and personal protective equipment as well as breathing apparatus and communication systems. The cost is not to exceed $703,769. The second proposition is to consider purchasing a new 2,000 gallon pumper truck at a cost not to exceed $370,000.
The informational meeting will take place on 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 at the Lysander Fire Station, 664 Lamson Road. Residents may vote on these propositions from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Lysander Fire Station 1.
The Lakeside Fire Department, which includes Seneca Knolls and the southern part of Van Buren, is holding two informational meetings to consider demolishing its existing fire station and replacing it with a new one at a cost no greater than $6.2 million. The meetings will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 and Thursday, July 31 at the Lakeside Fire Station, 1002 State Fair Blvd.
Residents can vote on this proposition from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at the fire station located at 1002 State Fair Blvd.
