Each of Baldwinsville’s indoor track and teams would have modest showings in last week’s pair of CNY Counties League National division championship meets.
First, in the CNYCL National boys meet Wednesday night at SRC Arena, B’ville picked up 56 points and finished fourth in the six-team field as Liverpool (135 points) edged out Fayetteville-Manlius (129 points) for first place.
Sam Mahar went after a victory in the 55-meter dash and, in 6.86 seconds, got to second place behind Liverpool star Ryheim Lawes (6.66 seconds) as Brian Mahar (7.05 seconds) finished sixth.
Dan Walker challenged Lawes in the 300-meter dash, and also got second place in 38.28 seconds, with Lawes prevailing in 37.67 seconds. Evan Donhauser finished third in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.43 seconds. Walker, joining Sam Mahar, Brian Mahar and Alex Anselment, went to third place in the 4×200 relay in 1:38.75, just behind Liverpool (1:38.54) as F-M won in 1:36.53.
Josh Perez got a fourth-place time of 4:35.91 in the mile, with Jack Martin (4:36.81) getting to sixth place. Edgar Ekure, Jason Ekure, Brian Mahar and Harrison Warner made their way to fifth place in the 4×400 relay in 3:51.75.
Griffin Lynch cleared 10 feet in the pole vault and tied for third place as Zach Ravas went to fourth place in the triple jump with a top leap of 34’3 ½”. Harrison Warner, contending in the high jump, finished third, clearing 5’4”.
Denis Keegan, Andrew Carter, Brennan LaQue and Joey Frink was fourth in the 4×800 relay in 8:55.26, while Frank Valletta took sixth in the shot put, throwing it 32’9”.
Martin Sak had a seventh-place long jump of 15’8 ½”. Individually, LaQue went 1:28.81 in the 600, finishing seventh, while Paul Moore (10:48.92) and Ryan Delola (10:50.90) were seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 3,200-meter run, just missing out on points. Arden Kellmer was eighth in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:48.12.
When the girls Bees had its turn in the CNYCL National meet on Thursday night, it got 50 points and took fifth place, with F-M roaring to the top as it earned 150 points.
Cierra Allen contended in the 300, her time of 41.59 seconds just behind Liverpool’s Ore Akinpelu, who won in 41.25 seconds. Also, in the 4×200, Allen, paired with Kelley Hull, Randi Bort and Elise Seifritz, went 1:52.17, just behind F-M, who won in 1:51.77.
Maria Diamond contended in the pole vault, clearing 7’6”, which put her in second place as West Genesee’s Abby Uczen cleared 9’6” to win. Emily Soeder topped 5’2” in the high jump, but C-NS’s Nicole Herringshaw cleared 5’3”, leaving Soeder in second place.
Katie Wicks, in 1:41.87, made her way to third place in the 600, while Mia Bolton got fifth place in the 1,500 in 5:20.78. Bolton, Seifritz, Marissa Lathrop and Kirby Socker were fifth in the 4×400 relay in 4:33.42, with Hull and Nadine Dickter joining Socker and Bolton to post 10:57.62 in the 4×800 and finish fifth.
Lathrop, on her own, was fifth in the 1,000 in 3:12.91, with Hull sixth as Hannah Wood needed 9.72 seconds for fifth place in the 55 hurdles. Randi Bort got sixth place (7.99 seconds) in the 55 sprint. Dickter was eighth in the 3,000-meter run as Carlie McNamara and Julia Kamide were eighth and ninth, respectively, in the shot put. Kayleigh Sattler got eighth place in the triple jump.
