Public notice has been filed that three positions in the village government will be up for general election in March 2013, including the office of mayor and two seats on the board of trustees.
The village board unanimously passed the resolution to authorize publication of the official notice of elections at its Oct. 11 meeting. Village election law requires such notice to be made at least four months prior to the election.
Due to the change in village election law passed in December 2011, all three positions up for election next year will be for four-year terms.
Incumbent Mayor Marty Hubbard and Trustees Marc Angelillo and Mary Sennett all said after the meeting they intend to run to retain their positions.
