Little was stressed about for the Skaneateles girls volleyball team through a series of one-sided matches that moved the team’s mark to 6-0.
In fact, the Lakers got something close to a shutout in last Tuesday’s match against Bishop Ludden, wiping out the Gaelic Knights 25-3 in each of the first two sets and 25-5 in the third set.
Everyone on the Skaneateles roster saw some action. Nearly a full set worth of points, 23, came from aces, Joanna Dean earning seven of them to go with six digs.
Julianna Augustine, Malorie Olin and Natalie Roche each finished with six kills, while Casey VanSlyke had four kills to go with her five aces. Sidney Lawson had 11 assists and three kills, with Mia Campanile adding five assists and Malory Davis earning four assists. Kristina Didio contributed four digs.
It was the same in Thursday’s match against Fowler, where the Lakers gave up little in the first and third sets and breezed past the Falcons 25-4, 25-14, 25-4.
Lawson took the lead and finished with 13 assists, adding four aces and three kills. Augustine and Roche both picked up five kills, while VanSlyke earned five digs. Didio, with four digs, and Kelsey Farrell, with three digs, helped on the defensive side.
After Saturday’s tournament appearance in Central Square, the Lakers are home next week for matches against LaFayette and Homer.
