The West Genesee School District and the Town of Camillus will host the 14th annual Race for Respect at noon Sunday, Sept. 23, at the high school. The purpose of the race/walk is to promote and celebrate mutual respect, acceptance of responsibility and community.
Last year more than 1,100 people participated, and the district hopes increase that number this year. Race participants may choose a 4-mile or 1.5-mile route. Local business will again provide generous denotations of fruit, muffins and water.
There are many ways to register. You may download a flyer from the district website, westgenesee.org. Students and families may pre-register at their respective schools until Sept. 19. Fees are $6 for single entries, $5 for each member of a family, and $5 for senior citizens. Registration on the day of the race is $7 per entrant. A race T-shirt will be provided while supplies last.
The Race for Respect is open to all. For information, call Mike Free at 487-4601.
