At its Aug. 21 meeting, the Liverpool Central School District Board of Education set the tax rates for the 2012-13 school year.
In the town of Salina, the tax rate will be $24.60 per $1,000 of assessed value. Meanwhile, in the town of Clay, where tax rates are based on a partial assessment, the tax rate will be $566.99 per thousand.
The budget approved by voters last May include an estimated increase in the tax levy of 2.81 percent. However, according to Superintendent Richard Johns, a slight change in equalization rates and assessments allowed the district to lower the rate slightly to 2.53 percent.
In addition, the 2012-2013 public library tax rates were set at $1.18 per thousand of assessed value in the town of Salina, and $27.12 per thousand of assessed value in the town of Clay.
