Saving Face Barbershop in Camillus raised about $700 in six hours at Sunday’s third-annual Barber-Q fundraiser to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York.
Owner Anthony Nappa said he hopes to make that $1,000 through a raffle of items donated by local businesses, which started Sunday and is continuing this week.
In addition to the raffle, the barbers of Saving Face raised money by giving away free haircuts from noon to 6 p.m. with all tips going to the Ronald McDonald House. Nappa said he and his staff did about 75 haircuts.
“I felt this event went very well,” he said. “We had a bunch of very gracious businesses donate to our raffle. That’s what it is all about — local businesses making a positive impact on the community.”
“We want to continue to grow this event each year,” he added.
