Following its 11th and most successful Spring Dinner and Auction in April, the Greater Manlius Chamber of Commerce has donated more than $6,000 in proceeds to two local food pantries. The Chamber presented checks for $3,165 to both Fayetteville-Manlius Community Outreach and Heaven’s Pantry of Minoa on Wednesday.
“We’re involved in local business, but part of our function is we want to make sure we’re giving back, and this is part of our way of doing that,” said Chamber President Tim Buckles.
F-M Community Outreach, located behind Pavone’s Pizza on East Seneca Street in Manlius, serves about 150 families in need while Heaven’s Pantry, which is housed in the Minoa United Methodist Church at 250 E. Ave., serves about 75, Buckles said.
“So combined there are about 225 families that we’re able to support through this program,” he said.
