Elbridge Supervisor Ken Bush described the town board meeting as a “very short, quiet” one.
Bush, three members of the board and Town Clerk Deb Stapleton met Thursday evening, May 24, at Town Hall. No other residents were in attendance.
At the meeting, the board held two public hearings and ultimately passed both resolutions. The first resolution was to amend the zoning map to change one particular residence from being listed as a residential location to a rural residential location. The particular location is a home that is located in the middle of a farm field, Bush said.
“It’s more of rural housing than what you would think of as village or urban housing,” he said.
The second resolution passed by the board was to amend the Town of Elbridge Municipal Code to define home occupations as being two acres, rather than three.
The board also accepted four bids on surplus items that it approved the advertising and sale of. These items included a 2003 F250 Ford pick-up truck, two cots and a chainsaw. Those who placed winning bids on the items have one week to collect them from the town and pay for them, Bush said.
The board chose not to accept bids on a 525 gallon water tank or the Marvin window.
Bush said two items – another chainsaw and an office desk — did not receive any bids. These items, along with the items for which the bids were not accepted, will go into storage and eventually be re-advertised.
Also at the meeting, the board extended an invitation to local resident Nate Fiacco’s Eagle Scout ceremony on Sunday, May 27, at 2 p.m. The ceremony will take place in the Jordan-Elbride Community Center, 1 Route 31, Jordan. Fiacco is a member of Elbridge Boy Scout Troop 52, and his Eagle project involved resetting stone and mapping the Quince Street Cemetery.
