Make-A-Wish Central New York is partnering with Dunkin’ Donuts and AAA Western and Central New York to promote the foundation’s Wishes in Flight program, the organization announced Tuesday, May 22.
Wishes in Flight is an airline miles donation program developed by the Make-A-Wish foundation. The program helps transport children and their families to help them reach their wish location. The foundation estimates that 2.5 billion donated airline miles are needed each year to provide travel to the wish kids and their families. Make-A-Wish Central New York will grant 80 wishes this year, most of which will require travel.
Dunkin’ Donuts and AAA are teaming up with Make-A-Wish Central New York to promote the Wishes in Flight program. For every 25,000 miles donated, up to 1 million miles, Dunkin’ Donuts will give a $25 gift card to donors. AAA is advertising the program in its Member Connection magazine, which reaches 200,000 members. Frequent fliers of Delta, US Airways, Continental or United can also donate air miles.
Make-A-Wish Central New York, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that grants special wishes to children ages 2 to 18 who are living with life-threatening medical conditions. The foundation has granted more than 1,300 wishes since its conception in 1985.
