There will be three open seats on the Liverpool school board this May, and only three candidates have submitted petitions to run for election to the board.
Patricia DeBona-Rosier, Richard Pento and Stephen DiMarco are the only candidates to have submitted petitions by the April 16 deadline, according to the district office.
Rosier is currently the president of the board of education. She was elected to the board in 2009. A former English teacher for the Liverpool Central School District, she lives in the village with her husband, village trustee Jim Rosier.
Pento was appointed to the board in October of 2011 to fill the term of Jim Kane after Kane moved out of the district. He previously served a term on the BOE from 2007 to 2011. He is a science teacher for the Phoenix school district. His wife, Amy, teaches Spanish at Liverpool High School. The couple has two children who still attend school in Liverpool.
DiMarco was appointed to the board in February to fill the term of John Woloszyn, who resigned for family reasons. He is chief executive officer and chief fiscal officer of the Summit Automotive Group and a partner in the business. His wife, Cathy, is a teacher’s aide in the district.
