About one year into a renovation project at 52-54 Albany St., owners Mark and Patricia Burritt are anxiously awaiting the completion and opening of Allure, their planned dance and fitness studio. At this time there is no definitive end date for construction or the grand opening, but the Burritts said they are anticipating their opportunity to move in.
“We are looking forward to the completion and are excited for the opening,” the Burritts told the Cazenovia Republican.
Once opened, Allure will offer dance lessons and fitness classes such as zumba, pilates and yoga to area residents. As both the business and client list are still developing, the Burritts said they are unsure of how many instructors will be employed.
The building, which formerly housed Albert’s Restaurant, will soon host four new apartments and two dance rooms, each approximately 800 square-feet.
Following construction work on the interior of the structure, a third level and new roof were added in January. The recent addition of a third floor will restore the structure to its original form, as the building was reduced to two levels after a 1970 fire.
While the Burritts said they aren’t sure when construction will conclude, they have extensive plans to revamp the building’s exterior. The current maroon hue will be replaced with grey siding and the storefront will be accented with wood and stonework.
