Amid a string of high finishes at Wednesday’s Section III state qualifying meet at SRC Arena, the Baldwinsville boys indoor track and field team made a particular splash in the 4×800 relay.
Together, the quartet of Andy Fleming, Matt Pond, Josh Perez and Alec Peinkofer dominated the event, finishing in eight minutes, 5.18 seconds, exactly 13 seconds ahead of runner-up Fayetteville-Manlius. So they advance to the state meet, set for this Saturday at Cornell University’s Barton Hall.
