The decades long Lenten Luncheon tradition continues.
Church Women United of Baldwinsville and the Baldwinsville Ministerial Association will again sponsor the 2012 Lenten Luncheon Series at 12:05 p.m. every Friday during Lent with a meditation in the First United Methodist Church. A 12:30 p.m. lunch in the dining hall will follow the meditation.
The series kicks off this Friday with meditation speaker Father Joseph Scardella (St. Mary’s) and St. Mary’s will also provide lunch.
Future speakers and hosts include:
March 2 features Pastor Joe Folckemer (Hillview Community) as speaker and First Methodist will host lunch.
March 9 features Rev. Joseph McGarry (St. Mark’s Lutheran) as speaker and Hillview Community, St. Mark’s Lutheran and First Baptist will host lunch.
March 16 features Rev. Larry Lundgren (First United Methodist) as speaker and Grace Episcopal will host lunch.
March 23 features Rev. Stuart Hayes (First Presbyterian) as speaker and Little Utica Methodist and Plainville Christian will host lunch.
March 30 features Rev. Gary Rarick (Plainville Christian) as speaker and the First Presbyterian will host lunch.
April 6 there will be a Good Friday service at noon at the First Baptist Church (no lunch).
A collection of canned goods, paper and soap products for the Food Pantry will take place each week (special mission project of Church Women United) and there will be a bakeless bread sale on March 30, in which all donations will benefit the Baldwinsville Food Pantry.
