Camillus Police are warning motorists of potential traffic backups or delays associated with funeral services for Rev. Gregg LeStrange.
LeStrange, 55, pastor at St. Joseph’s Church in Camillus, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13. He had been battling lymphoma.
Police warn motorists there will likely be traffic congestion and lane reductions in the area of the church at 5600 West Genesee Street are likely between 3 and 9 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15 and between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16.
Calling hours are to be held between 3 and 6:30 p.m., Thursday, with the Vigil for the Death of a Priest at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
LeStrange had been the pastor at St. Joseph’s Church since 2006. Prior to that, he served at Fayetteville’s Immaculate Conception, Baldwinsville’s St. Mary’s Church, Cicero’s Sacred Heart and Syracuse’s St. John the Baptist.
Overflow parking for calling hours and a vigil service will be at the Medical Center at 5700 West Genesee Street. Additional parking for the funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday will be available behind Siena Restaurant, 5633 West Genesee Street.
Police will be on hand to assist in directing traffic.
