In a highly contested race, Democrat Marty Masterpole has won the spot as Syracuse City Auditor with 57 percent of the votes. Helen Hudson and Kathleen Joy will be taking over as councilors-at-large.
Masterpole netted 8,168 votes, 2,030 more than challenger Steve Kimatian. He came in with 6,138 votes, or 42 percent of the vote.
For councilor-at-large, Helen Hudson took 35 percent of the vote, or 9,226 votes, followed closely by Kathleen Joy, with 33 percent, or 8,889 votes. Joseph Rotondo, a Republican, netted 4,916 votes and Kurt Schmeling, also a Republican, took 3,296.
