Cazenovia’s girls swim team ventured west, to the Skaneateles Community Center, for action in Tuesday’s Onondaga High School League championship meet.
Paige Nardella rose to sixth place in the 200 individual medley with a clocking of 2:44.91. Ganli Demyttenaere gained 10th place in the 500 freestyle (6:22.93) and 12th in the 100 backstroke (1:19.75) as Courtney Banac was 11th in the 100 butterfly in 1:19.02.
In the 200 medley relay, the quartet of Nardella, Banac, Demyttenaere and Skyler Adolfi finished eighth, in a time of 2:20.44. Adolfi, Nardella, Banac and Sophia Catania got to eighth (2:00.12) in the 200 freestyle relay.
On her own, Catania took 11th in the 200 freestyle in 2:22.53, with Emma Groff 15th in 2:27.08. Catania added a 15th (1:05.14) in the 100 freestyle. Adolfi was 24th in the 50 freestyle. In the 400 freestyle relay, Catania, Groff, Mee Rae Firkins and Emily Corey were ninth in 4:40.03.
The Section III championships start next Wednesday, at Nottingham High School, and run through Nov. 5.
