All is in place for the Baldwinsville girls swim team, who hosts West Genesee next Tuesday night with the CNY Counties League regular-season championship on the line.
To get to this point, the Bees still needed to clear one more big hurdle, which it did by going to LeMoyne College’s pool Wednesday night and beating Cicero-North Syracuse 100-81 to improve its mark to 6-0.
As with all its other meets this season, B’ville led from the start, as Charis Parker, Kaitlyn Martin, Megan Eubank and Samantha Sidorakis worked together to win the 200 medley relay in 2:01.92.
That was just the start for Parker, who claimed first place in the 200 individual medley in 2:25.43 and, in the 100 breaststroke, earned another title in 1:12.23.
Martin, who finished in a dead heat with CNS’s Breanna Ruffrage in the 50 freestyle as both posted equal times of 26.84 seconds, was all alone in front of the 100 butterfly, posting a win in 1:06.13. Sidorakis earned first place in the 100 backstroke with a top time of 1:06.49.
To clinch matters, B’ville returned to the top spot in the 200 freestyle relay, where Parker, Eubank, Martin and Elena Margrey sped to a title in 1:49.68.
As this went on, West Genesee stayed unbeaten by topping Liverpool 97-83, led there by Olivia Castro, who took both the 200 freestyle (2:00.63) and 100 freestyle (54.86 seconds). Castro and Kim Pedrotti lead the Wildcats to this season-ending showdown at the Baker High School pool.
