With the regular season behind them, the Baldwinsville girls tennis team took its 9-1 record into the Section III Class A team tournament, carrying the intent to win it all.
At least the first part went smoothly, as the Bees took apart Oswego 7-0 in last Wednesday’s quarterfinal round at the B’ville school campus.
Kahlei Reisinger, with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Tayler Bowman, led a singles charge where Taylor Ferrari took out Lauren Daniels 6-1, 6-0 and Amari Pollard had a 6-1, 6-1 rout of Casey Caroccio.
Moving to doubles, B’ville would prove just as strong. Natalie Kot and Katherine Schumacher went through a tough second set, but beat Hannah Allen and Allison Mosher 6-1, 6-4, while Hannah Mautz and Alexandra Meanor toppled Meredith Chesare and Kelly Skinner 6-3, 6-3.
Up in first doubles, Maddie Fiello and Colleen Morgan beat Saran Mancuso and Aubrey Schrader 6-2, 6-2. Shannon Hurley and Taylor Slink beat Sierra and Hayley Adams 6-2, 6-1.
Two days of rain kept the Bees from facing Liverpool in the Class A semifinals until Monday, with the championship round to immediately follow.
