The Salina Town Board will hold an informational hearing at its regular meeting Monday night to discuss the possibility of purchasing the old Bresee property, now Burdick Chevrolet, on Old Liverpool Road.
Burdick Chevrolet is located at 604 Old Liverpool Road. It will be moved to Drivers Village in Cicero by the end of 2011. Roger Burdick bought the property from Bresee Chevrolet earlier this year.
The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26. During that meeting, board members will discuss the possibility of purchasing the former car dealership for the purposes of consolidating the town hall and highway department facility on that site. Currently, the town hall is located at 201 School Road, while the highway department is located at 601 Factory Ave., Mattydale. If the board approves the decision, it will look to approve a referendum to be placed on the ballot Nov. 8.
Monday’s meeting will only include an informational hearing meant to inform both the public and the board. No action will be taken.
