Mark Olson, mayor of Fayetteville, signed a proclamation Monday, Aug. 15, on behalf of the citizens of Fayetteville congratulating Hullar’s Restaurant and the Hullar Family on 100 years serving the community. Hullar’s, which is managed by Nanette Hullar, celebrated the milestone on Aug. 16 and 17.
The proclamation reads:
“Hullar’s Restaurant has been a long-standing icon of the Village of Fayetteville and continues to be a reassuring comfort even through times of change … dating back to 1818, this site at 411 E. Genesee St. has always been a haven for travelers seeking rest and food … on July 19, 1911, Jake Hullar I took over this prized location and established Hullar’s Restaurant … by adjusting to the changes going on around them decade to decade, Hullar’s continues to thrive where others could not … a remarkable three generations of the Hullar Family have maintained this establishment and, thereby, many generations of families have enjoyed Hullar’s fine food and gracious servers … the passion of the Hullar family is reflected in the loyalty of their customers and the camaraderie they have with them… at Hullar’s Restaurant laughter reigns as old friends meet and new acquaintances are made.”
