Square Pegs started in 1996 as an all-80s band and has been going strong since. They have gone beyond the 80s music, however, as a lot of bands jumped on the 80s band wagon. Unless, that is, a client asks for an all-80s show. Now they are mixing 90s through today’s radio hits and pull a few from years past just for fun. Their diverse sets include hip hop, dance, rap, rock, pop and metal. There truly is something for everyone.
The Pegs have regularly played clubs, colleges, festivals, and parties for the past sixteen years, nearly every weekend. Why? Because they love their weekend job. They have traveled as far west as Indiana and as far east as Boston, Mass. Now, Square Pegs plays mainly in Syracuse, Sylvan Beach, Utica, Herkimer, Albany, Glens Falls, Lake George, and Plattsburgh. How many cover bands are dedicated to travel and play in that large of an area for that many years?
Square Pegs consists of Sherry S, also known as PMS, who started it all on lead vocals; Joe F, a.k.a. DJ Ghetto Blaster, on keyboards and vocals; Dave R, a.k.a. Duke Western, on guitar and vocals; Marcus L, a.k.a. Viva La Glam, on bass and vocals; and Mike O, a.k.a Olliewood, on drums. The band brings energy and excitement to every venue. Guests are often invited up on stage to dance and perform with the band. Anyone watching knows that every member truly loves doing what they do.
