Cicero-North Syracuse’s Billy Werksman earned the Class A portion of the Section III diving championship Thursday at Nottingham High School.
Werksman accumulated 471.05 points, easily outdistancing his closest Class A rival, Nottingham’s Kalonji Cole, who was second with 401.05 points. Liverpool’s Tim Roche, with 393.65 points, finished fourth as another Warrior diver, Joe Whaley, finished 13th.
Mexico’s Nick Rodriguez won in Class B with 484.95 points, as he and Werksman are expected to duel Sunday for the overall sectional title and berths in next month’s state championships on Long Island.
