Westside resident and community activist Robert Oberst will receive the Syracuse Parks Conservancy’s second annual Guardian Award this Friday during a ceremony at City Hall.
Oberst has been a longtime supporter of the parks system in Syracuse, demonstrating the commitment, vision, leadership and dedication the award represents, said SPC President Mike Behnke.
His passion for Syracuse and its parks, one of the most expansive city park systems in the nation, has been especially fruitful for Burnet Park, where Oberst has maintained a pictoral record of the park’s history.
Oberst will receive the award at 8:30 a.m. Friday Jan. 21 at the Mayor’s Office in City Hall. For more information about the SPC, visit syracuseparksconservancy.com or find them on Facebook.
