Conformist’ screens Saturday
Hailed as one of the 100 best films of all time, Bernardo Bertolucci’s 1970 classic “The Conformist” will screen at 8 p.m. Saturday Jan. 22 at ArtRage Gallery.
The political drama is set in 1930s Italy and Paris stars Jean-Louis Trintignant as a weak-willed Fascist sympathizer on a mission from Benito Mussolini’s secret police.
The film is considered a case study in the psychology of fascism and has been hailed for its cinemagraphic use of light and shadow.
