So far, the Cazenovia girls volleyball team has found the fall season to be a good fit, as it has blown past all early opposition.
Such was the case again last Wednesday night, when the Lakers went to Central Square and earned a 25-15, 25-12, 25-16 sweep of the Red Hawks.
Never threatened in any of the games, Cazenovia featured Alexis Markowski, who picked up 10 kills, and Lizzy Reed, who added seven kills. On the back line, Chelsea Lauria finished with 16 assists, three kills, three aces and three digs, while Amber Robinson contributed eight assists, four digs, three aces and three kills.
Two nights later, the Lakers hammered Bishop Ludden 25-7, 25-4, 25-9. Markowski accumulated 13 aces, while Lauria got 11 aces to go with her 11 assists. Reed finished with nine kills as Robinson earned six assists. Hannah Koennecke contributed four kills, three aces and two digs.
On Wednesday, the Lakers are back home at Buckley Gym to face Utica Proctor before the first of two big showdowns with Skaneateles on Friday night.
