According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the death of Chittenango teen, Daryl Kingerly, has been ruled a suicide. While the office could not release anything further at this time, Sheriff Allen Riley did state that the Medical Examiner’s Office came to this conclusion because of the manner in which 19-year-old Kingerly was found.
The teenager was found by Sheriff’s Deputies in the woods of the Town of Sullivan park in Chittenango Monday, after utilizing GPS technology to locate Kingerly’s cell phone.
Kingerly was reported missing Sunday evening by a family member, and an initial search of the area near the park brought investigators to his empty car, and when a foot search was unsuccessful, they worked with Madison County 911 and AT&T to locate the teen.
Kingerly was located in a heavily wooded area inside the park, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
