Each of Canastota’s cross country teams would topple three different Center State Conference opponents during Wednesday’s meet in Ilion.
On the girls side, the Raiders, led again by Allison Lasnicki, beat the host Golden Bombers 23-33, also topping West Canada Valley 20-37 and Oriskany 15-45.
Lasnicki, the overall champion at the Oct. 10 Tully Invitational, again pulled away from the individual field, setting an Ilion course record with her time of 19 minutes, 47 seconds.
Far back, Francesca Popple took second place in 22:16, with Marisa Williams (22:45) finishing off a 1-2-3 Canastota sweep. Further back, Elise Soper finished 10th in 25:33.
As for the boys Raiders, it also won all three of the meets, toppling Ilion 19-36, whipping West Canada Valley 18-43 and getting past Oriskany 17-39.
And Canastota’s boys also pulled off a 1-2-3 sweep, starting with Aaron Walker as he won in 18 minutes, 39 seconds. Alex Spara claimed second place (18:50), just ahead of Zach Szkolnick (18:51) in third place. Frank Slaunwhite was seventh in 20:04 as Ilion’s Justin Bennett set a school record in 19:26.
Hamilton and Morrisville-Eaton ran together in a meet at Sauquoit Valley, where the hosts dominated the top spots on the male and female sides. Still, M-E’s Austin Hirsch took fifth place in 19:12 as Hamilton teammates Erik Roberts (19:57) and Danny Jacobs (19:58) finished ninth and 10th, respectively.
