Cicero-North Syracuse sent both of its golf teams out on the last day of August, and they immediately found some success.
At Monday’s Henninger Invitational at Drumlins East, Damian George won the individual title, as the only player to shoot 39 for nine holes.
Four players — Liverpool’s Ethan Ausburn, plus the Fayetteville-Manlius trio of Kevin Ralph, Sean Wildhack and Scott Stegeman — finished with 40, one shot back of George.
From the team side, CNS Blue was fourth, with 216, as F-M (206) claimed the top spot. Liverpool was sixth in the 10-team field with 235, one shot ahead of CNS Green in seventh place.
All this followed an opening match on Aug. 26 where CNS Green beat Central Square 216-224 at Greenview, the Red Hawks’ home course. Derek Teague shot a 40 for individual honors, with Eric Misiaszek added a 42 and Mike Mento put up a 44.
