Lipe Art Park and u
Want to get involved with the only art park located right in the heart of Syracuse? Lipe Art Park is the old site on a rail yard that was converted into a green space. It has a flower garden, veggie garden, and an area for rotating art installations.
Right now the Friends of Lipe Art Park (FLAP) are preparing for a Summer and Fall installation. While they are making much progress, FLAP is looking for a few more folks who want to get involved with the park.

Arts Covenant facts
The Arts Covenant is a movement in CNY that calls upon everyone to support the rich cultural and artistic life of our community by committing to four simple agreements over a year’s time:
1. Purchase three original works of art to honor the creative work of CNY artists.
2. Attend at least one arts event from a culture other than your own to explore our community’s diversity.
3. Attend one event in an art form you don’t usually choose to experience.
4. Support an arts institution you haven’t supported before. For example: volunteer, take an arts course, join a story circle, a dance company or a chorus, become a sponsor or underwriter, attend a writing class or do a poetry reading.
The official launch of the CNY Arts Covenant will take place on the first day of ArtsWeek, Friday, July 24 at noon in City Hall Commons, Downtown Syracuse at the Th3/ Arts Covenant tent by the Tectonic Hand Sculpture. They are asking all participants to make a commitment, to take part in art by leaving their hand print on the CNY Arts Covenant quilt, as they agree to support the arts in Central New York.
