Three more wins in the span of five days pushed the Westhill girls lacrosse team’s mark to 11-1 in advance of the key OHSL Liberty games in the month of May.

The week began with last Monday’s visit from Onondaga, which turned into another one-sided affair as the Warriors beat the Tigers 20-7.

Gradually, Westhill would wear OCS down, especially on the defensive side as it only allowed two goals in the second half.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie Rainone and Sam Marshall both were scoring four times, with Rainone adding four assists and Marshall two assists.

Close behind them, Annie O’Connor and Emily Haggerty each gained three goals and one assist, while freshmen Brenna Rainone and Erika Eipp got two goals apiece. Claire Purcell and Caroline Buonocore scored, too.

Still at home Wednesday to face Tully, the Warriors kept on rolling, reaching double digits in the win column by slamming the Black Knights 15-4.

Here, Westhill eased up after a first half where it seemed to do whatever it wanted on the offensive side, gaining a 13-1 advantage.

In that short time, Marshall earned four goals and three assists, with Brenna Rainone also finding the net four times. Eipp and Mackenzie Rainone each had two goals and one assist, with O’Connor adding two goals. Haggerty had one goal and one assist. Lauren Wolfe and Caroline Buonocore notched assists, too.

Westhill went to LaFayette on Saturday and came close to duplicating its exact result from the Onondaga game, toppling the Lancers 20-6.

The only difference here was that Marshall took the lead, matching LaFayette by herself with six goals, plus an assist, as Mackenzie Rainone earned four goals and three assists.

Haggerty backed up her two goals with four assists, while Buonocore and Brenna Rainone matched that two-goal output. O’Connor, Eipp and Erin Bright each had one goal and one assist, and Claire Purcell also scored.

With an 11-1 mark, Westhill faces Bishop Ludden and Jordan-Elbridge this week in advance of what promises to be a challenging regular-season homestretch.
