The Greater Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce is asking folks to flour up their rolling pins and enter its pie making contest.
During the chamber’s Community Showcase event, judges will sample entries in two categories: two and one-crust pies. After the judging, there will be a People’s Choice Award. Prizes will be given for the top three in points in each category. Ribbons will be given to the top five places.
Contestants can view the rules and sign up in advance by visiting greatersullivanchamber.org or they can sign up the day of the event.
The Community Showcase will be held March 21 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Chittenango High School gymnasium. Local businesses, clubs and organizations will display goods and services throughout the event; many will offer free samples.
Other activities include children’s ID program, karate demonstrations, and an art show; face painting for the kids and more.
The GSACC will give away $100 to one winner. There is no admission fee to the show.
