MAD Art, Inc. in Hamilton’s downtown will hold its second annual Black & White Affair from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday Feb. 6 at the MAD Art Gallery on the Lebanon Street Alley.
“MAD Art’s first Black & White Show last year was all about excitement and fun,” said John Conti, of Hamilton. “People took care in following the suggested dress code at the opening reception with the enthusiasm of a Halloween party.” Conti is an active member, featured artist, and frequent volunteer at MAD Art.
“The gallery pulsed with the quirky, sharp and clean tone that a good monochromatic show can provide,” Conti added, “and the walls were filled with sheer professionalism. I felt like I was in Chelsea; the concept definitely deserves an encore.”
The new display of artwork in Black & White (and shades of grey) will be on display at the MAD Art Gallery through the end of March.
The Black & White theme will extend to the refreshments for the evening, featuring black and white hors d’oeuvres and desserts. The gallery committee suggests those attending come attired in black and white.
Regular gallery hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Most pieces at the gallery are available for purchase.
