Back home Friday to face Corcoran, the Cicero-North Syracuse boys basketball team did have some nice moments in the late stages, but could not catch up in a 70-59 loss to the Cougars.
Where CNS went wrong was in the first half. Led by Mike Stenson and Dewan Bohannon, who finished with 17 points apiece, Corcoran controlled much of the first half and put the Northstars in a 38-21 deficit.
CNS would try and eat into that margin in the late going, with John Howell at the helm as he earned 24 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. However, none of Howell’s teammates had more than the six points put up by Elliott Boyce and Eric Munoz.
Thus, the Northstars are 2-8 as it pays a Tuesday-night visit to West Genesee and prepares for the weekend Juggler Classic, hosted by Utica-Notre Dame at the SUNY-Utica Tech gymnasium.
