*Update*
State troopers released more information Wednesday regarding the double homicide in Elbridge made public Tuesday.
Joseph M. Bisesi III, 27, of 5879 Sandbank Rd. in Jordan is being charged with two counts of murder in the first degree after Tuesday’s investigation of Bisesi’s residence lead police to two bodies on the property.
Authorities believe the victims were Bisesi’s parents, Joseph Jr., 54, and JoEllen, 53. A post-mortem examination of the remains was scheduled for Wednesday to verify the identities of the bodies and determine exact cause of death.
Police said they believe Bisesi murdered his parents Sunday, July 20, and was disposing of their bodies in the septic tank at the home on Tuesday afternoon when Bisesi’s cousin William Kirby found Joseph Jr.’s body protruding from the plastic pipe leading to the septic tank.
Kirby notified police and an alert was issued for Bisesi III, who turned himself into police custody at the Onondaga County Sherrif’s Office a short time later, police said.
The remains of the two victims were recovered late Tuesday night; the female victim believed to be Bisesi III’s mother was retrieved from the septic tank, the male believed to be Joseph Jr. was removed from the entrance of the tank.
Police said the appendages of the male victim had been removed, presumably by Bisesi III to enable him to hide his father’s body in the tank.
Kirby told police Gina Bisesi, of Potter Road in Warners, had told him she had been unable to reach her parents, Joseph Jr. and JoEllen, since Sunday morning.
Authorities would not comment regarding a history of arrests for Bisesi III or any apparent motive for the crime, but did say they had been called to the home previously. No one called 911 or police to report hearing gunshots in the area on Sunday, police said.
They stated the investigation is ongoing, and plan to remain at the Sandbank Road residence for an additional 24 to 48 hours collecting evidence.
Bisesi III continues to be held without bail.
