Not content with an undefeated run to the OHSL Liberty division title, the Skaneateles boys golf team took it even further.
Going to Kanon Valley Country Club in Oneida Monday afternoon, the Lakers beat seven other foes to capture the Section III Class B-2 team championship.
Overall, Skaneateles finished with a total of 416, easily beating Marcellus, who claimed second place with 435, and Clinton (436) in third place.
Jeff Baldetti covered 18 holes on the par-72 layout in 78 shots, tying South Jefferson’s Rick Algie for low individual honors on a cold, windy day where scores were bound to be high.
Eric Edmunds wasn’t far behind, finishing alone in third place with an 80. Brian Stokes-Cawley put up an 83 to tie for seventh place, while Jay Stith put together a round of 85 to share 10th place.
All four — Baldetti, Edmunds, Stokes-Cawley and Stith — advance to thiks weekend’s overall sectional championships, to be played at Colgate University’s Seven Oaks course in Hamilton.
Two Marcellus players are going, too, thanks to Adam Daggett shooting an 83 to tie for seventh and Zach Anderson adding an 86.
