In a dominant performance, Liverpool native Jeff Gaulrapp scorched the rest of the field in hot conditions at the Lake Moraine Run in Hamilton on July 15.
Gaulrapp, 26, covered the five miles in 26 minutes, 30 seconds, an average of 5:18 per mile. That beat the field by nearly two minutes as 15-year old Zachary Ornelas, from Adams, finished second in 28:19.
On the women’s side, Brittany Burns, a 17-year old from Watertown and track star at South Jefferson High School, took the championship, finishing in 32:50 and taking 11th place overall, ahead of most of the men, too.
