With all of its experience on hand, the Liverpool girls bowling team gave first-year upstart Auburn a rude greeting with a 4-0 victory over the Maroons last Tuesday afternoon.
Auburn had been unbeaten in its first varsity season, but that changed as Kayla Campbell and Marjorie Hier each shot equal 609 series, with Mary Townley adding a 601 series. Both Campbell and Townley had 236 high games.
Two days later, in a showdown with Cicero-North Syracuse, the Liverpool girls again came up with a huge win, toppling the Northstars 4-1.
The Northstars’ Chelsey Fox had a 659 series with a high game of 237, but the Warriors still won because no other CNS bowler topped 500 for three games.
Campbell, with her 581 series and 224 high game, led the way as Hier put up a 570 series and 224 high game, while Townley got a three-game-total of 538.
