Matthew Friedman, 51, of Cazenovia, died at home on Jan. 29, 2020 of complications from Myotonic Dystrophy. He was born in New York City and attended Friends Seminary and Bronx High School of Science. Matthew continued his education attending Hampshire College and University of Virginia Law School.
He was a proud father, excellent cook, avid Giants fan and animal lover. Music played a central role in his life, especially at high volume while driving. His intelligence, wry sense of humor, fun-loving spirit and passionate commitment to the democratic process will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Yvonne Murphy; his daughter, Rory; his sister, Susannah Vickers and by his mother, Peggy Friedman. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Friedman.
