Over the past year, the TED Talk Tuesday series at Common Grounds has gained a loyal following. At the request of some regular participants, the November-March series has been extended into April and May, with the possibility of continuing year-round.
“Having a different non-profit organization choose the playlist each month has infused new energy into the series and has connected individuals who might not otherwise have been in contact with each other,” said Kelli Johnson, community organizer at Common Grounds. “We are now inviting other organizations and/or individuals who are interested in ‘hosting’ for a month to continue the momentum.”
The TED Talk line-up for April will be led by Jen Capozzi, of Barlume Apothecary, and May’s playlist will be chosen by Erin Kelly, of Positive Path Nutrition. April’s playlist includes, “What’s Wrong With What We Eat” (April 4), “Teach Every Child About Food” (April 11), “Why I Am A Weekday Vegetarian” (April 18), and “How We Can Eat Our Landscapes” (April 25).
TED Talk Tuesdays take place at Common Grounds every Tuesday at 2 p.m. To volunteer to lead a month of TED Talks, or for more information about Common Grounds, contact Kelli Johnson at [email protected] or 315-655-4468.
