For the first of many occasions, the Baldwinsville boys indoor track and field team made their way to SRC Arena, starting a new season with a solid finish at Wednesday night’s Jack Morse Holiday Relays. All told, the Bees picked up 28 points, putting them in sixth place. That still trailed Cicero-North Syracuse, whose 55 points helped them hold off Fayetteville-Manlius (51.5 points) atop a crowded field. But no one would catch B’ville in the distance medley relay. Combined, Brennan LaQue, Paul Moore, Arden Kellner and Jack Martin put up a time of 11 minutes, 24.27 seconds, more than eight seconds ahead of runner-up C-NS (11:32.34) and the field. Sam Mahar took sixth in the 55-meter dash in 6.98 seconds. Combined with Brian Mahar’s clocking of 7.08 seconds (12th place), that put the Bees second overall with 14.06 seconds. Only Fowler’s tandem of Delee Williams and Adan Raacha (13.75 seconds) fared better as Williams took the individual race in 6.81 seconds. Ryan Roman, Denis Keegan, Colin Spaulding and Ryan Delola put the Bees in fourth place in the 4×800 relay in 9:29.98, well off West Genesee’s winning time of 8:32.12. Evan Donhauser was fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.91 seconds, and teamed with Alex Anselment for a fourth-place effort in a combined 19.54 seconds. Anselment, Jason Ekure, Edgar Ekure and Andrew Carter got to fifth place in the 4×400 relay in 3:58.91. In field events, Alex Ayo and Zach Ravas took eighth place in the triple jump, going 66 feet 3 inches between them. Bill Hoffman and Frank Valletta were ninth (71’2 ½”) in the shot put. B’ville’s girls team will not participate in its portion of the Jack Morse Relays until next Tuesday night, right before the boys run again on Wednesday.
