Fresh off its season-turning win over then-unbeaten Skaneateles last Monday night, the Marcellus girls volleyball team did not suffer from any kind of letdown.
The Mustangs returned to action Thursday night and swept Westhill 25-11, 25-19, 25-13.
Rebecca Eddy stood out with 13 kills, as Kayla Howard and Kassie Phillips each got five kills and Samantha Vulcano set them up with 26 assists.
Thus began a sweep of three matches in as many nights, with Marcellus taking out Mexico 25-22, 25-12, 25-20 on Friday behind Howard’s nine kills and eight blocks. Eddy helped with eight kills, as Vulcano got 20 assists and libero CarlyAnnable earned five aces.
In Saturday’s 25-11, 25-15, 25-14 rout of Hannibal, the Mustangs improved to 11-4 as Eddy picked up 10 kills, four aces and three assists. Vulcano, with 15 assists and five aces, got back-line help from Francesca Tangredi, who had 10 assists.
Marcellus would get a rematch with Hannibal, then meet Jordan-Elbridge on Friday before finding out its Section III Class B playoff seeding on Sunday.
