As they hit the heart of their schedules, all the local girls tennis teams hoped to maintain various win streaks. Fayetteville-Manlius, unbeaten in 17 seasons, got pushed a bit by Liverpool last Monday afternoon, but still beat the Warriors 6-1. Carly Romano had to work in singles during a 6-1, 6-4 win over Madeline Cass, though Sienna Susko and Maria Chayban dropped just one game in four sets. Maria Mintskovsky and Katie Muller took the lone defeat, falling to Ashleigh Caruso and Sarah O’Hara 7-5, 6-4. Lauren Schaefer and Olivia Calancie beat Chloe Lombardo and Humma Sheikh 6-2, 6-4, as the teams of Rhiannon Iorio-Shelby Smith and Mehgan Muraco-Ellen Choi also prevailed in two sets. F-M kept it up a day later, going to Cicero-North Syracuse and beating another quality opponent as it swept the Northstars 7-0. Sienna Susko won over Lauren Osada 6-3, 6-2, while Romano worked past Jessica Geary 6-1, 6-3 and Allison Vizgaitis beat Stephanie Fahrbach 6-1, 6-1. In a three-set doubles thriller, Mintskovsky and Muller got past Meghan Storie and Becca Cain 6-2, 6-7 (7-3), 6-3, while Schaefer and Calancie overcame a rough start to beat Alma Pushkar and Kelsey Wilson 2-6, 6-1, 6-2. The teams of Iorio-Smith and Choi-Muraco each won in two sets. And when the Hornets beat Oswego 7-0 on Thursday afternoon, that made it 262 consecutive match victories. Playing first singles, Susko beat Chandler Caroccio 6-1, 6-1, while Romano and Vizgaitis both won without dropping a game. The doubles teams of Mintskovsky-Muller, Schaefer-Calancie and Smith-Iorio each won equal 6-2, 6-1 marches, while Muraco and Choi earned a 6-0, 6-1 win over Aubrey Schrader and Ashley Deveney.
