Liverpool’s indoor track and field teams made one more appearance at Manley Field House before its conversion to a Syracuse University practice facility. And during Friday night’ s State Qualifier, the Warriors had some winning moments that assured a presence at this Saturday’s state meet at Cornell University. In the boys 4×800 relay, Liverpool blew away the field. Colin Savage, Frank Johnson, Chris Clemons and Alex Wilke got together and posted a time of 8:07.91 that beat the field by a wide margin. West Genesee (8:23.01) got second place. Savage, on his own, was third in the 1,000-meter run in 2:32.73. Over in the girls State Qualifier, Trina Bills earned her place in the state meet by winning the 1,000-meter run. Hardly threatened, Bills, in 3:05.79, beat CBA’s Carol Giblin by more than three seconds. Bills also teamed with Brigid Heenan, Rachel Putman and Miranda McConnell for third place in the 4×800 relay in 9:40.61. Heenan took fourth in the 1,500-meter run (5:04.10). Armani Moore earned fourth place in the long jump, going 16 feet 3 3/4 inches, while Harmony Cross was fourth in the 55-meter high hurdles in 9.30 seconds. Nachez Brown was fifth in the 300-meter dash (44.97 seconds) and Tatiana Gladney was fifth in the shot put, tossing it 31 feet 11 inches.
