The Town of Manlius Recreation Department is staging “School of Rock: The Musical” this weekend as this year’s summer production.
The first public performance took place last night, and it will also run tonight and tomorrow starting at 7 p.m. both evenings. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for children 12 and under and senior citizens 65 and older, and $20 for all other attendees.
Like the hit 2003 film that serves as its basis, the comedic rock musical follows a down-on-his-luck musician who finagles a substitute teaching gig at a prestigious preparatory school as he sets his sights on an upcoming Battle of the Bands competition.
